Home Remedies for Everyday Ailments

Simple, gentle home care for minor everyday complaints. These support recovery from mild symptoms — they don’t replace medical treatment for anything serious or persistent.

Common Cold

Warm fluids (soup, herbal tea), steam inhalation, honey with warm water (not for infants under 1 year), adequate rest and sleep.

Sore Throat

Gargle with warm salt water 2–3 times a day, warm honey-ginger tea, avoid cold drinks and dry/spicy food.

Indigestion / Acidity

Warm water with a pinch of ajwain (carom seeds), avoid lying down right after meals, smaller more frequent meals, chewing fennel seeds after eating.

Mild Headache

Rest in a quiet dark room, cold compress on the forehead, staying hydrated, gentle neck and shoulder stretches.

Cough

Warm water with honey and a squeeze of lemon (not for infants), steam inhalation, staying upright rather than lying flat, avoiding cold beverages.

Minor Cuts & Scrapes

Clean gently with running water, apply mild antiseptic, cover with a clean bandage, change dressing daily and keep the area dry.

Nausea / Motion Sickness

Ginger tea or ginger candy, sipping water slowly, fresh air, avoiding heavy or oily food before travel.

Mild Constipation

Increase fiber (fruits, vegetables, whole grains), drink more water through the day, light physical activity, a warm glass of water first thing in the morning.

Muscle Soreness

Gentle stretching, warm compress or warm bath, adequate rest between activities, light massage with mustard or coconut oil.

Dry / Chapped Skin

Apply a fragrance-free moisturizer right after bathing, use lukewarm (not hot) water, stay hydrated, use a humidifier in dry weather.
